At Grenlec’s recent Electrical Energy Efficiency Expos, businesses shared their knowledge, products and services to help customers learn more ways to save energy, money, and the environment. In addition to sharing energy-saving tips, Grenlec also showcased one of its pilot All-Electric Vehicles where customers were given the opportunity to explore its features.

Everyone can use energy wisely. From simple, everyday lifestyle changes such as turning off lights and appliances when not in use to replacing light bulbs, old refrigerators and AC units with high efficiency models. When buying new, look for 220-volt appliances and equipment to help avoid the need for transformers, which increase energy usage.

“In addition to using LED lighting, I recommend switching off transformers when they are not in use. You should also size transformers efficiently…if your appliances consume 2800 watts, get a 3000-watt transformer instead of a 10,000-watt model.”-Richard Roberts, Paddy’s Enterprises & Hardware

“I think the Expo is timely, necessary, and a positive move in bringing together different companies that complement Grenlec and other areas of expertise that are important to the country.”
-O’Neal Peters, SP’s International Trading Ltd.

Grenlec’s energy-efficient All-Electric Vehicle (EV) was on display at the Energy Efficiency Expos in Grenville and Carriacou.

Grenlec’s electric vehicle (EV) was a big hit with children and adults at the expos. EVs are powered by a rechargeable lithium-ion battery pack instead of fuel which results in zero emissions to help protect the environment. At approximately the equivalent of 75 miles per gallon (MPGe), EVs have lower energy costs, and offer a quieter, smoother ride making it fun to drive.
