Electrical Installation Technology Award
GRENLEC initiated this award and has recognized the most outstanding student in Electrical Installation Technology for years as we did once again this year. The student is presented with the award at their annual graduation and this year, Joshua … topped the department. We are delighted to be given the opportunity to congratulate these students for their hard work and dedication throughout their tenure at T.A Marryshow Community College. We commend them and urge upcoming students to aim to perform at their best.
Hillsborough Secondary School’s Computer Lab
In 2004, GRENLEC made a contribution to the Hillsborough Secondary School of a new computer lab. The lab serves to train students of forms three to five for CXC exams in Information Technology.
TAMCC New Modern Language Communications Lab
T.A. Marryshow Community College benefited from an upgrade to a technologically advanced lab for modern language and communications, proudly donated by GRENLEC in 2006. This project introduced thirty- seven computers, a server, two projectors, other audio-visual equipment and accessories. The upgrade of the lab facilitated the long awaited start of four new languages, namely, Chinese, Portuguese, German and Italian.
The Junior Achievement Program is run by the Grenada Chamber of Industry and Commerce, annually. The initiative for fourth form students is intended to impart and hone entrepreneurial skills. Student participants form companies and these companies are supported by corporate entities. Every year, GRENLEC supports one company, providing a mentor and other practical assistance.
Grenada Community Development Agency (GRENCODA) is a rural based, non-profit,non-governmental organisation. GRENCODAmandate includescommunity development, education, training, small enterprise/ entrepreneurial development, institutional strengthening, advocacy and communication. GRENLEC provides support for GRENCODA's Student Assistance Program (SAP). The programme assists vulnerablefamilies by providing books, uniforms and transportation allowance for children to attend school.
