| Grenada Electricity Services Limited, locally known as GRENLEC, is the sole provider of electricity for the tri-island state of Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique.
In 1961 when the company commenced operations as a private company there was an installed generating capacity of 1850 kilowatts. Since then, the company has increased its generating capacity. Today that capacity is 40 Megawatts (MW). Its customer base has risen from 550 in 1961 to 34,288 in 2001, with sales of electricity in 1972 of 16.1 GWh to 129 GWh in 2002.
