important day in the calendar of events for
GRENLEC as the company hosted its Restoration Awards to honour all its workers who made restoration of Electricity
possible following HurricaneIvan on September 7,
2004.

The company held recognition functions for all groups of workers from overseas who assisted in restoration and left the latest to honour its own. Over 100 award were presented to workers in three major categories, Platinum for services above and beyond; Gold for very good service; and plaques for all persons who delivered satisfactory service.
In addition, everyone involved in restoration was presented with a Certificate of Appreciation.
The Managing Director said it was a proud moment for him and his staff because the past eight months were trying times. He noted that GRENLEC was able to triumph over the situation at great sacrifice to its employees, and to the delight of its customers. Because of this, management thought it fit to pause and celebrate the achievements.

The Minister of Public Utilities in his remarks reminded that he has always said that the Company’s employees delivered when the need for their service was most critical and that nation is grateful. He challenged the Company to be a force for helping to develop communities as it continues to serve the nation.
Cultural performances and live band music graced the evening but to top it off our own Don Forsyth, Senior Engineer, Designate took over the microphones and thrilled us all with his singing … Life, life without music, Meter reader Andy Murray, also took a turn at the base guitar to resounding applause.
It was indeed a beautiful evening!
