MY FONDEST MEMORIES AT
GRENLEC
There are so many good memories gathered at GRENLEC, that it is
difficult to pin-point any particular incident or event. In retrospect, I think
the early days of the sports club and what it achieved then, give me the greatest
satisfaction.
When the Human Resources Department was non-existent and there was a
perceived strain in relations between the management and the ground floor
workers, I undertook the task of trying to bridge that gap. I was ably assisted
by Ms. Alexis, Robert Alexis (Robbie), Emmanuel Francis (Waste), Vincent
Williams (Jack-man), Linda George-Francis and many other workers. We were able to lure the senior folks from
their Saturday chores to our monthly sports activities, where they interacted
with the junior office workers and management staff; and what fun we had socializing
on a level plying field!
How can I forget the birthday club; where many moonlight-lights were
spent, frolicking, joking and enjoying one another’s company in many ambient locations?
I will also remember my last years at the Power Station in the place we called Parliament. My interaction there with
the young workers was very fulfilling and I will remember those many heated
arguments and discussions on almost any topic.
The fun, the jokes and the laughter… all those things will remain
indelible in my memory. No wonder I still remain a part of the Grenlec Family.
